I have no idea why anyone would be rating this app less than a 4-star. I just used it for a week and found it to be great. I didnt find one thing I disliked about it. And this was my first trip to DC so I didnt have any previous experience on the metro or even in the DC area. I used another app to determine the closet metro stop to my point of destination. It always showed the five closest stations and the trip planner was a life saver getting thru the change from one color to the next.

Just got back from a trip to DC. I used this app and my wife had another. Both had their advantages. Hers had a much better UI and was generally more pleasant / easy to use - especially with planning routes to take. However, it didnt have a trip planner (e.g. calculating the trip cost) or live time tables. Both of those came in handy multiple times. In all, it is a functional app that will help you get around DC.

You need to update the app. It constantly crashes and the searching for location feature when trying to view the map is useless

Just upgraded from IPhone3G (without S) to IPhone 4S... and this one works just as great. This app is perfect... amongst all the bells that such apps can come with, this one nails down to what a local or a tourist will need and thats why I still use it after about 2 years... for example.. find the closest station... then find out after how long trains are leaving at that station... in both directions. save frequent stations close to my office as favorites click on map to get to station info Simple... small.. fast! Thanks for the app!

Ive noticed the circulator arrival times have become increasing unreliable. Either no data is available (probably not the apps fault so Im complaining to them directly as well) or the data is off by a few minutes. Ive had several occasions where a bus I could have caught was not listed and of course vice versa. In the beginning this app seemed to be dead on. What happened? For the metro it is great.

Bought this for short trip to DC (Marine Corps Marathon). Needed accurate transit info. When I got there it was not working because I had the settings wrong on my phone. Emailed support expecting nothing as it was a weekend night and by Monday Id be in California not needing DC transit help. Within just a few minutes I received a cheerful and helpful reply - fixed. Worked great and helped me then care for injured runners. THANKS

Wow! This sure made my tourist trip much easier. Id pull out my phone and find out everything I needed to get me around DC like a local.

Need to improve the bus arrival time search ability. Often people like to search by route and address instead of bus stop id. Also, app often crash on ios5.

All it needs is to be able to plan trip EXACTLY by telling us which stops to get off at for transfer if need be along with arrival times of multiple routes.

I just switched to the iPhone after having a Droid and using the wonderful (and free!) DC Metro Transit app. This app is sort of a letdown by comparison. It needs more than 3 available bus stops and an easier way to select favorite stops (stop numbers are not always handy). I do like the integration of first and last trains at each station.

I have had this app since it was created and I was excited about it. After coming back from Paris and having used the application that the official metro and train company of the Paris Region made, I am fairly annoyed about the fact that this app hasnt evolved into something bigger and better. The WMATA is at fault! When are we going to have an official application for the iPhone which might make the users of this expensive and already archaic Metro and Bus system in the Nations capital worthy clients? For the app developer of this obviously free app: - look at other metro systems app around the world to get inspiration for a greater and more practical product! - you should be able to follow the buses and metros on the different lines live! Its the 21sr century! Get on it! - give ultra accurate "trips planners" with time tables according to which bus or metro you will be on during your journey from point A to point B - show a detailed map with the different lines being worked on live and where metros or buses stop because of traffic or malfunctions. I mean, these are easy points!

Best metro app, but needs an update. WMATA changed the feed for the alerts.

Very useful and stable. I would like to see a bit more polish and small features added like more than 3 bus stops...

This would be a much better app if it were updated with any kind of frequency. The Circulator map has been out of date for more than a year — it doesnt include the Rosslyn line.

This app was helpful in so many ways. I especially liked the trip planner and find the closest metro station. Takes the anxiety out of getting around DC. I also ran into a small problem. Emailed to support and got an almost immediate answer with explicit instructions.

Lots of options- very convenient to have metrobus and circulator info in one app. Usually totally accurate with arrival times and whatnot. Not a perfect five stars only because it allows you to save just three bus stops by number for quick reference - would be way more useful with eight or ten available saves.

Useful features that are easy-to-use.

Train trip planner is not live and only tells me general information like how long the trip will take and how much it will cost... These are things I already know as a DC resident. It would be nice to know live-time trips.

I dont want to live in DC without this app. Its the best of the lot. Note the store screenshot of the metro map is from the previous version. The author has updated the map to the new rush+ map, so dont worry its all up to date. You wont go wrong here.
